Nathaniel Fischer receives $2,500 from the 2011 JCEL Business Plan Competition.
The Juniata College Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership (JCEL), housed in the Bob & Eileen Sill Business Incubator, is an experiential learning program for students, from any POE, that encourages entrepreneurial thought and action.
JCEL is where all of the necessary elements are located to help students create value, of some kind (new product or service, or non-profit idea), taking ideas from concept to reality. This new found value could lead to securing a patent or copyright; starting a business or forming a non-profit project/organization that addresses a social problem.
In practice, JCEL staff, faculty and mentors provide business coaching, funding and facilities to help students develop a product, service, intellectual property and/or the creation of an enterprise, as well as support for social entrepreneurship endeavors.
