Storming of the Arch is an optional rite of passage for freshman. The goal? Get through the Cloister Arch. This mission is complicated by a group of upperclass "defenders," rugby players, and alumni.
Mountain Day
Established: 1896
On a beautiful fall day, classes are canceled and everyone flocks to one of the state parks for a day of outdoor fun, including a picnic, slip 'n slide, mechanical bull, crafts, music, and tug-of-war.
The best part is that no one knows in advance when it's going to occur! Speculation on the date is one of the most-popular topics among the students and faculty.
When students return to campus in the fall, we treat them with lobsters!
In addition to tasty lobsters and live music, there's a fair where student organizations set up display tables so that new students have the opportunity to see the many activities available to them.
All Class Night
Established: 1938
Only during All-Class Night will you get to see a live sheep on the Oller Hall stage, students roller-skating down the aisles, and the president of the College wearing shades belting out a Blues Brothers tune!
And the best part? The performances are judged by professors.
Physics Phun Night
Juniata science students experiment as entertainers during demonstrations of astounding feats of physical science during Physics Phun Night.
Eid Dinner
Experience Muslim culture, authentic cuisine, music, and entertainment firsthand. The Lebanese folk dance Debka is especially popular among our Eid guests!
Eid celebrates the end of Ramadan, a fasting month for Muslims where they pray for forgiveness, reflect on the past year, and renew their commitment to Allah. At Juniata, Eid is filled with wonderful homemade food, live entertainment, and colorful decorations.
Madrigal
This holiday tradition starts with a first-class meal served to the students by the faculty and staff. After dinner, there is much caroling, which culminates with the singing of "The Twelve Days of Christmas" with various sections of the dining hall acting out the different parts of the song.
Students camp out in the freezing cold for days just to sign up for Madrigal. It's an elaborate tent city on the lawn around Ellis Hall, complete with furniture, TVs and VCRs, and video games.
Mr. Juniata
Established: 1997
The Mr. Juniata Pageant is a tongue-in-cheek spoof of beauty pageants with men from each class competing for the coveted Mr. Juniata crown. Complete with formal wear, talent, and interview competitions, the guys keep the Oller Hall audience in stitches with their hilarious antics.
Springfest

Springfest is jam-packed with activities allowing students and staff to enjoy a break from their preparations for finals and to get a little crazy! The weekend consists of a mud volleyball tournament, carnival activities, outdoor picnics and other activities which can include anything from laser tag to tie-dying t-shirts to a break dancing demonstration.
