On February 1, the 43rd Super Bowl took place in Tampa Bay, Fla. The competitors? The Pittsburgh Steelers and the Arizona Cardinals. But a different sort of competition took place during the Super Bowl whose importance far outweighed the result of the football game. At halftime, the country’s best advertisers had one chance to sell their product to the American people. Who competed? Any company willing to pay $3 million for a 30-second slot. The audience? You.
