Madonna: Still the Queen of Pop?
If you were one of the over 100 million Americans this past Sunday watching the Super Bowl, chances are, you witnessed Madonna’s much-hyped half-time show. Her performance featured both classics and new music from her upcoming new album. Madonna garnered a wide variety of reactions, becoming a top search on Google. I asked some JC students to share their thoughts on the Queen of Pop’s performance:

Matt Fritz ’08, Allentown, Pa.: “She’s still got it, but I think Cee-Lo Green stole the show.”
Sariam Babu ’08, Pittsburgh, Pa.: “She is way too old, and her song references didn’t even make sense.”
Shelby Cassell ’13, Mechanicsburg, Pa.: “I liked the mix of artists, and I think Madonna did a good job. The performance was pretty cool overall.”
Rob Schultz ’12, Philadelphia, Pa.: “I really enjoyed how modern it was compared the previous years. It was a great mix of both new and old artists.”
Jade Wronowski ’13, Barto, Pa.: “It definitely was not what I had expected from Madonna. She’s in her fifties, yet trying to appeal to a much younger crowd. It was entertaining, just not great.”
