Sleeping Beauties: Students find Comfort in Bizarre Locations
Juniata College’s tough academic curriculum forces students to study throughout all hours of the day, and night. As sleep becomes a sacred commodity, Juniata’s brightest often disregard beds and snooze in the most unflattering positions and places. Juniata upperclassmen discuss the funniest places they, or their peers, have fallen asleep on campus.
Matt Butler ’13, Quakertown, Pa.:
I used to fall asleep in the library every morning. It was like my sacred ritual before class; and sometimes right through class.
Andy Blunk ‘14, State College, Pa.:
One time I unexpectedly fell asleep at the cliffs after a study session. That was actually scary and I’m glad I didn’t roll off.
Ben Tritsch ’13, Bel Air, Md.:
I found a kid sleeping on the front steps to Ellis. As I approached I realized I knew the kid, so I left him there.
Eric Huet ’13, Somerset, Pa.:
After getting back into my car after studying for hours, I woke up. I never made it home as I fell asleep sitting in my car.
Ryan Dempsey ’14, West Chester, Pa.:
I walked out of a room in BAC and some kid was sprawled out sleeping in the middle of the hallway. I’m pretty sure he was drooling.
