What Would You Do in a Zombie Apocalypse?
With shows like “The Walking Dead” soaring in popularity, the undead trudge through many people’s minds. As Halloween approaches, students describe what they would do if zombies began to walk the earth.
Courtney Goodman ’13, Rockville, Md.:
I’ve actually thought about that. I’d probably head to Founders and go to the second or third floor. I would lock myself in one of the lounges because there’s always food there, and I’d try to stay there for as long as possible.
Patricia Longe ’14: In a zombie apocalypse, I would probably hide underground until I die of starvation. That’s my plan.
Nathan Wright ’15, Lancaster, Pa.:
I’d go to the Soldiers & Sailors Museum in Pittsburgh and pick up a lot of their live firearms and the live ammunition they store in the safe. Then I’d go from there up through Buffalo, go across the bridge all the way up to a northern Ontario town called Gowganda, where you can survive the entire year on fish and hunting. During the winter, the zombies, who have no internal body heat, would freeze solid. Also they would rot before they’d have any chance of reaching me, considering it’s so far north.
Stephanie Farfan ’15, Sunrise, Fla.:
I would shoot myself in the head before the zombies get me. They can’t get me if I’m shot in the head.
Bader Alnoaimi, East Riffaa, Bahrain:
First of all, I’m going to raid comic book stores, because I expect the world to need some kind of entertainment. I’m going to have a comic book monopoly and sell them to people at outrageous prices. Then, of course, I’ll be rich. Using my riches, I will make a Batcave, so I can be Batman. I’ll probably fight the zombies as Batman and get someone to film it all, so after I defeat all the zombies I will be a real-life hero and I will have a movie about it, so that I can make even more money, and everybody will love me.

First i would find a decent fast car. Then find some good weapons. I would stay on the move constantly, never lurking too long in one place and doing what I got to do to survive. But that’s just me.
