Christmas in NOVEMBER?
‘Tis the Season already? Unfortunately, this seems to be the case, according to many stores and radio stations. Christmas has already appeared over a month early all throughout the media, covering up the holiday of Thanksgiving. Juniata students weigh in on whether or not they like Christmas being advertised this early.

I think it’s really annoying because it’s overplayed. People are also wearing Christmas hats already. Why ruin the holiday?
Madison Brader ’15 Bethlehem, Pa.:
I hate all of it. I’m not a Christmas person. People get too happy and it annoys me. My hometown is called “The Christmas City.” They go all-out with decorations and I hate it so much!
Rebecca Carr ’15 Morrisdale, Pa.:
Yes, it does annoy me. Christmas ads should come after Thanksgiving. They shouldn’t skip each other.
Allison Blumling ’14 Hershey, Pa.:
I don’t know. I think it kind of takes away from Thanksgiving. I know Thanksgiving isn’t commercial, but I still think it makes people skim over the holiday and only think about Christmas. It takes away the excitement of Christmas as well.
Michael Weintraub ’15 Oakland, Calif.:
Christmas is capitalist commercialized holiday that companies use to make a profit and the original holiday was stolen from paganism. Therefore, the fact that Christmas is advertised at all is not cool. However, Christmas music is okay and is sometimes catchy.
