Things to Do Off-Campus
Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, offers a host of activities in close proximity to Juniata College. In town, there is an intimate, first-run movie theater, several restaurants, and a bowling alley that offers Cosmic Bowling on Friday and Saturday nights.
Huntingdon is also home to Raystown Lake, a favorite vacationing spot for many families. Raystown offers boating, swimming, hiking, biking, and many other outdoor activities. Raystown Lake is just one of the many outdoor recreation areas within a short distance of Juniata College.
Altoona, Pennsylvania is home to the Altoona Curve, a AA Minor League Baseball team. The Curve hosts several college nights during the season, where students can get discounted tickets. Also in Altoona: the Galatic Ice Arena, home ice of the Juniata College Ice Hockey Club. The largest mall in the area, an outdoor mall, large movie theaters, and dozens of restaurants provide ample entertainment when away from Juniata campus.
State College, Pennsylvania, nestled in what locals call Happy Valley, is home to Penn State University. State College is a quaint city full of diverse shopping and dining opportunities and a bustling nightlife. There are several clubs in the area, and Penn State's Bryce Jordan Center is a wonderful place to go see a major concert or the latest performance tour.
The Juniata College Office of Student Activities runs a shuttle bus to State College on most Friday evenings and Saturday afternoons for $5 round trip. Check the link below for dates!
