Primary Role

Under the supervision of the executive director of marketing and in consultation with the vice president of advancement and marketing, the associate director of marketing and community outreach executes periodic plans for regional community relations to support the College’s strategic plan, coordinates marketing research efforts related to major marketing efforts, manages promotional and advertising efforts, and coordinates photography requirements. 

Typical Duties & Responsibilities

Develops, maintains, and executes a plan for community outreach each year, in support of branding efforts and community relations. Coordinates efforts through the vice president of advancement and marketing with Senior Leadership Team input.
Leads College promotional program. Collaborates with key departments to develop promotional plans, including advertising, promotional items, and event support as needed. Develops and manages the promotional budget.
Manages photo policy and procedure to provide photography for department requests, campus events, and semi-annual professional photo shoots for College staff. Manages student photographers and photography schedule.
Develops a plan for market research each year, coordinating with the executive director of marketing and relevant enrollment and advancement personnel. Executes research plans and trains others to assist and to lead.

Supervision Required/Given:

Receives general direction and guidance. Must work collaboratively and supportively with other individuals and groups. Supervises five to ten student employees in marketing department responsibilities, among whom may be interns and/or Juniata Associates.

Position Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, communications or a related discipline.
Two years experience sufficient to demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office; knowledge in integrated marketing, branding, advertising, promotions, media relations, and photography. Experience in professional writing and working with graphic design applications a plus.
Excellent organizational and interpersonal communication skills a must.
