"His playing...is already marked by technical excellence, an inventive mind and frequent touches of humor."Born into the First Family of contemporary jazz, Trombonist Delfeayo Marsalis is the son of renowned jazz pianist and educator Ellis Marsalis and the brother of trumpeter Wynton Marsalis and saxophonist Branford Marsalis. He leads his own ensemble, but he has toured globally with some of the giants of jazz, including Max Roach, Art Blakey and Elvin Jones. He also plays with the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra. He has recorded several albums as a leader, including "Musashi." He has a thriving career as a recording producer and has overseen albums by Harry Connick Jr., Marcus Roberts and his brothers Wynton and Branford. His most current album is "Minion's Dominion." His work on the slide trombone has lifted him to the forefront of jazz instrumentalists.
