The Delbert McQuaide Distinguished Lectureship in History (1997)
An endowed history lectureship in memory of Delbert J. McQuaide '58 was established in 1997 with a major gift from the law firm of McQuaide Blasko Schwartz Fleming & Faulkner, as well as gifts from other colleagues and friends. After receiving his BA from Juniata, Delbert McQuaide received a Root-Tilden Scholarship, awarded to those who "show unusual capacity for unselfish public leadership." With this scholarship, he went on to receive his LLB from New York University School of Law. Having served the College for years in various capacities, Mr. McQuaide was elected to Juniata's Board of Trustees in 1994 and chaired the Board from 1996 until his death in 1997. The endowment is intended to support a lectureship in history because of Mr. McQuaide's admiration of former Juniata College history professor, Dr. Kenneth Crosby, and his devotion to history.
