Application and Information
Students may apply to Juniata any time after completion of their junior year in secondary school. A complete secondary school transcript indicating courses and grades (including senior year courses and grades to date) must be sent from the applicant's guidance office along with SAT-I and/or ACT scores, an essay, Juniata Supplement form and a letter of recommendation. A nonrefundable $30 fee must also accompany the application.
Candidates for freshman admission can choose from three application options. Early Decision, Early Action and Regular Decision :
Early Decision is designed for students who know that Juniata College is their first choice. Early Decision gives a student the opportunity to receive their admission decision and financial aid award early in their senior year. The Early Decision application deadline is December 1st of the student's senior year with notification no later than December 31st. Early Decision students are asked to sign the Common Application Early Decision Agreement indicating that they have read and agree with Early Decision guidelines discussed in the supplement. Accepted Early Decision candidates filing for financial aid are asked to complete Juniata 's institutional aid form by January 5 in order to receive an early financial aid award. Candidates must also file a FAFSA form between January 1 and March 1 to verify their award. Early Decision is binding; students accepted under Early Decision are expected to enroll and must submit a non-refundable $400 matriculation deposit by February 25.
Early Action also allows a student to receive their admission decision earlier than Regular Decision. However, unlike Early Decision, Early Action is non-binding and students may have until May 1 to make their college selection. The Early Action application deadline is January 1 of the student's senior year with admission notification beginning January 31. Financial aid award packages will be determined after results from the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) have been received. Students should submit their FAFSA as soon as possible after January 1 of their senior year, but no later than March 1.
The Regular Decision application deadline is March 15* of the student's senior year. Admission notifications for Regular Decision are rolling and will be released beginning March 1. Students applying near the application deadline should allow at least one month to receive their decision after all credentials have been received. Financial aid award packages will be determined after results from the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) have been received. Students should submit their FAFSA as soon as possible after January 1 of their senior year, but no later than March 1.
Note: Students who wish to be considered for the Nomination Scholarship Program or Eagles Abroad International Scholarship Program should have their completed application postmarked no later than January 3rd of their senior year.
