PA NAME Conference

April 3-4, 2009

NOW ACCEPTING PROPOSALS!

Sustaining Justice!

Juniata College is proud to host the annual Pennsylvania National Association for Multicultural Education (PA-NAME) Conference on April 3rd and 4th of 2009. With PA-NAME, our goal is to create an environment of acceptance, understanding, and community building by featuring numerous pedagogical experts, workshops and performances from which we can all learn.

Educational justice is a process of renewal and regeneration of the struggle for just causes in public and private education, not a set of target numbers in an institutional planning document. It is about opening and reopening the doors that have denied opportunity for economic, social, sexual and spiritual expression in all areas of modern society. This conference will be about our own renewal and regeneration in part, but in a greater portion it will be about garnering a new set of tools to sustain and expand the progress made in the last forty years in multicultural education.
