The University of Akron will host it's Sixth Annual Black Male Summit on April 12-13, 2013. Join us on the campus to hear nationally renowned speakers, educational leaders, practitioners and students explore the critical issues affecting Black males in higher education.

Recruiting and Preparing a Diverse and Highly Effective Teaching Force: Sessions focusing on the recruitment, preparation, and retention of teachers of color and/or language minorities, will be facilitated by leaders of nationally recognized programs.

Pittsburgh leadership conference SAVE THE DATES: September 12, 2013
The purpose of the conference is to start discussion about issues concerning diversity within Pennsylvania. Celebrating its 15th year, this year’s theme is “Awareness to Action” which will focus on how to better integrate more diversity into the workforce of major businesses, communities, and organizations. In addition, the conference recognizes and honors the efforts of small business organizations, academic and community leaders in their work to better diversify the state of Pennsylvania. The conference offers various leadership workshops and networking opportunities all of which focus on strategizing the best possible ways to achieve diversity. Anyone looking to network themselves or develop ideas to increase diversity should certainly consider attending.

The NCORE® conference series constitutes the leading and most comprehensive national forum on issues of race and ethnicity in American higher education. The conference focuses on the complex task of creating and sustaining comprehensive institutional change designed to improve racial and ethnic relations on campus and to expand opportunities for educational access and success by culturally diverse, traditionally underrepresented populations.
