Student Employment Instructions for Rehired Students

Steps for returning to work on campus

  1. AUTHORIZATIONS: If you are NOT paid by a stipend and didn't complete the online authorization prior to leaving campus for summer break, the online authorization should be completed by the student and authorized by the supervisor no later then 2 pm the day prior to beginning work. This is needed so that we can set up access in Kronos. This access is required before you are eligible to return to work.
    • A link has been added to the Student Employment channel of the Arch to access the online authorization and a link is also offered on the payroll web page.
    • If you are completing the online authorization prior to leaving for summer break, you will only need to confirm that you will be working in each position listed during the Summer, Academic Year or Both (summer and next academic year). Just click on the position name to confirm. Any positions not confirmed will be ended over the summer.
  2. KRONOS, an online timekeeping system: Students are required to use the Kronos to track their hours and complete the online training.
    • Students should transfer into the position they are working in on their IN punch only, even if they only are working in one position.
    • Online Training is available through Moodle and training is required before you start working.
    • The day after your supervisor has submitted your online authorization you will have access to Kronos and can begin recording your hours worked.
  3. Reminder: While classes are in session students are permitted to work up to 70 hours in a four week pay period or 87.5 hours in a five week pay period. During extended breaks Juniata policy allows students to work up to 40 hours per week.
