Mononucleosis (Mono)
Mono is contagious and is spread through contact with the oral secretions or exhaled air of infected individuals. The Epstein-Barr Virus is the most common cause of infectious mono.
While there is no cure for mono, students may significantly reduce the severity and duration of their symptoms by adhering to traditional treatments. These treatments include increasing the amount and quality of rest they receive, drinking adequate amounts of fluids, and taking anti-inflammatory medications such as ibuprofen.
