Assistant to the Executive Vice President for Advancement and Marketing
Assists the Vice President in organizing the work of the Advancement and Marketing Division. The position reports to the Vice President of Advancement and Marketing.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides office management and primary administrative support for Vice President of Advancement and Marketing.
- Assists the VP in developing prospective visits by reviewing the locations of major prospects, noting previous contact and giving records and securing appointments with the prospects selected. Assists in the stewardship of endowed and annual scholarship donors.
- Provides administrative support to the Advancement and Marketing Committee.
- Assists in event planning in conjunction with development and alumni staff and assists in communications and logistics for the 50th reunion class.
SUPERVISION GIVEN AND RECEIVED::
- Reports to the Vice President and works independently with discretion and judgment as to how best to achieve college goals.
- May provide supervision to student workers and interns.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CHARACTERISTICS:
Education:
A high school diploma is required. An advanced degree from a business college, community college or other institution of higher learning is desirable.
Experience:
At least five years of progressively responsible experience in administrative support and/or office management is required.
Personal Competencies Necessary to be Successful in Position:
- Excellent interpersonal, planning, organizational and communication skills
- A working knowledge of Microsoft Office and database management.
- Ability to work independently within a broad strategic framework and institutional priorities.
- Must work cooperatively and collaboratively with numerous and diverse individuals and groups.
