Assistant Director of Annual Giving

Primary Role:

Development and implementation of fund-raising goals, strategies, and initiatives. Manage diverse fund-raising projects to achieve established goals.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan and fully manage all aspects of tele-marketing campaign including recruit and train student callers, cultivate student supervisors to manage and support Fall and Spring phone-a-thons, track and analyze goals, trends, and targeting of phone-a-thon activities to plan modifications or adjustments for subsequent campaigns.
  • Develop, promote and coordinate fund raising strategies for J-Club (athletics).
  • Assist in development and oversight of fund raising strategies for affinity donor programs including but not limited to: Friends of the Library, Friends of the Field Station, Juniata Artist Series, Juniata College Museum of Art.
  • Develop and implement current student strategy to educate on and promote philanthropy and cultivate a culture of giving back to Juniata, including coordination of department activities related to fundraising for senior gift at Senior Salute event.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Supervision Required/Given:

Receives general direction and guidance. Must work collaboratively and supportively with other individuals and groups. Hires, trains, and supervises student employees, providing specific direction and oversight of assignments.

Position Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and capabilities generally acquired through a Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Demonstrated experience, knowledge and proficiency with PC software including Word and Excel.
  • Demonstrated skills and capabilities in the following: written and oral communication, planning and managing projects, analysis of trends and performance of project strategies, understanding and appreciation of diversity, and hiring and supervision of staff.
  • Requires some evening and weekend commitment.
