Development Accounting/Grant Assistant
Primary Role
Process gifts, pledges, and pledge payments using Benefactor software. Schedule and reconcile pledge receivables to general ledger, and present value pledges in conjunction with annual audit. Provide support for Grants Accountant on an as needed basis.Typical Duties & Responsibilities
- Post gift and pledge receipts in a timely manner.
- On behalf of the Development Office, issue gift receipts and generate pledge payment reminders.
- Monitor delinquent pledges and refer to Development Office for appropriate follow-up.
- Support Grants Accountant as assigned.
- Process credit card payments for non-gift items.
- Generate standard Development Office reports as needed or requested.
- Update alumni/friend database in conjunction with gift/pledge processing.
- Back-up accounts payable and purchasing functions.
Supervision Required/Given
Works independently using own judgment and discretion in processing confidential data. Must work cooperatively with Grants Accountant, Accounting Services Assistant, Director of Development-Foundations, Corporations and Grants as well as alumni and friends of the College.Position Qualifications
- Associate Degree or equivalent experience
- Proficiency in Excel and Word; prior experience with Benefactor database desirable
- Attention to detail
- Maintains strict confidentiality
