Assistant Director of Sports Information

Juniata invites applicants for the Assistant Director of Sports Information position. Working with the Director of Sports Information, the Assistant Director of Sports Informationt will assist in the coverage of all varsity sports at Juniata College with duties including, but not limited to:

*Primary media contact for assigned sports (to be determined), responsible for writing press releases, game recaps and feature stories; filing weekly reports with respective conferences and NCAA; as well as, designing and distributing game notes, game day programs, PA scripts and other publications;

•Assist in the management of social media initiatives;
•Coordinate athletic video productions including game highlights and video features;
•Help maintain JuniataSports.net website and program statistical data;
•Nominate student-athletes and coaches for conference, regional and national awards;
•Train and manage Juniata Associate, student assistants and student interns in office and game day tasks;
•Assist in the game day operations for football;
•Ability to serve as official statistician for various sports;
•Other duties as assigned by the Director of Sports Information and the Athletics Director.

General supervision is provided by the Director of Sports Information. Position will provide functional and/or administrative supervision to Juniata Associate, student assistants and student interns.

A Bachelor’s degree is required along with one to two years of experience within a sports information office. Knowledge of non-linear video editing software such as Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premier, and experience with filming and editing broadcast-format game highlight and feature packages is highly desired. Experience with Adobe Photoshop and InDesign, Stat Crew statistical software in at least one sport, and sports writing are preferred.

This is a 10-month position. Employment will continue through the end of the academic year with the possibility of rehire for the following year. Compensation includes stipend, benefits, room, and board.
