Lecturer in Microbiology
The Biology Department at Juniata College, a highly ranked, national liberal arts college of 1,500 students located in the scenic Allegheny Mountains of central Pennsylvania, seeks to fill the position of Adjunct Instructor in Microbiology for spring semester 2014. The Biology Department has an innovative curriculum, a strong tradition of undergraduate research and a rich history of sending students on to graduate studies and productive careers. Successful candidates will teach a total of 5 credit hours of upper level microbiology lecture (3CR), microbiology laboratory (1CR), scientific writing (1CR). Expertise in both classical and molecular microbiology methods is preferred. Topics to be covered include classic cultivation techniques, microbial ecology and physiology, and health-related microbiology. Applicants with an earned B.S. degree and graduate experience should submit 1) a brief statement of teaching experience, philosophy, and interests; 2) a curriculum vitae; 3) undergraduate and graduate academic transcripts; and 4) three letters of recommendation.
