Environmental Service Retreat on rocks

The Environmental Science and Service retreat integrates aspects of agriculture, the environment, and science through community service and other activities. Students will broaden their awareness of environmental and agricultural issues.

Each retreat will also have the opportunity to mingle with other retreats and participate in larger group activities and programs.

Why do you want to be a peer leader?
I want to pass on my passion for nature, build leadership skills, and introduce the incoming class to an awesome Juniata experience!
Fun fact about yourself?
I raise chickens and Icelandic sheep back home.
What have been the best extracurricular events you have been a part of at Juniata?
I ran indoor track for a while and I am a huge fan of the Ministry of Games’ Saturday night Nerf wars in BAC.

Why do you want to be a peer leader?
I think that this program helps to build a tight community feeling on the campus. I loved it when I participated and I hope to give all the incoming students the same experience!
Fun fact about yourself?
I can wiggly my ears.
What is your favorite memory from your first year at Juniata College?
That is a really hard one but…as much as studying is a lot of work I loved staying up late in VLB with my two best friends!

Outdoors, and peer leader for Where the Wild Things Are last year
Why do you want to be a peer leader?
I love teaching the incoming freshmen about Juniata and how to get around. And I also love adventures and meeting new people.
What is your favorite memory from your first year at Juniata College?
I loved my Inbound and I'm still friends with those people today. Also getting a good grade in organic chemistry was very gratifying.
What is your best advice you can give to your Inboundees?
Do not procrastinate on your homework. If you want time to sleep and hang out with friends, do your homework first.
