Inbound Frequently Asked Questions:
If I am a fall season athlete, can I still participate in Inbound?
Most fall athletes are unable to participate in Inbound due to scheduling conflicts. The athletic camps prior to the fall semester accomplish many of the same goals as Inbound through practice and team activities. Those teams in preseason during Inbound include Men and Women's Soccer, Field Hockey, Women's Volleyball, Men and Women's Cross-Country, and Football. Contact your coach if you have any questions about preseason schedules.
I am a transfer student to Juniata, and not a freshman. Can I still participate in Inbound?
Yes! Inbound is open to all first-year students, meaning “first-year at Juniata” not necessarily those in freshmen class standing. This classification includes freshmen, transfer students, and new international students.
How does retreat placement work?
When you register using the online form, you will be asked to rank your top 5 preference. We try our best to place all students in one of their top 3 choices, but cannot make any guarantees. We do not base placement on first-come, first- serve (as long as you meet the July 1 deadline). We want to make sure that everyone enjoys their retreat placement rather than miss out just because they may learned about Inbound later than others.
How do I find out which retreat I am in?
Students participating in Inbound will find out their retreat placement no later than Tuesday, July 15th. Students will be notified via their Juniata email account.
When can I move into my room?
Inbound participants will move in on Saturday, August 23, 2014. You will pick up your room key, Juniata College Gold Card (photo ID), and Inbound information during check-in (location TBD). Check-in and move-in is from 8:00 am - 12:00 pm and we’ll have Peer Leaders stationed at each residence hall to help carry your belongings. Resident Assistants and Resident Directors will also be available at this time to answer any questions. Check-in details will be provided closer to Inbound via email.
If you have a problem with that move in date and time (such as if you live out-of-state), please email email@example.com and explain your situation. Each inquiry is handled on a case-by-case basis, and early move in is not guaranteed. If granted to move-in early, you will be notified by the Inbound staff and you will be able to move in on Friday, August 22, 2013.
What should I bring?
Most retreats do not require you to bring anything above and beyond what you would normally pack for college. If your retreat requires something special (hiking shoes, sports equipment, items for projects, etc.) we’ll let you know via email.
The Office of Residential Life has compiled the following “What to Bring/What Not to Bring” list for first-year students: http://www.juniata.edu/services/reslife/tobring.html
Do I move into my room for the year?
Yes! When you move in for Inbound, you move right into the room you will be in for the academic year. Housing assignments are sent by the Office of Residential Life around the first of August. Please direct all inquiries regarding housing to their office: ResidentialLife@juniata.edu or (814) 641-3323.
Feel free to reach out to the Inbound staff anytime if you have additional questions that were not answered on our website. (814) 641-3308 / firstname.lastname@example.org
