Grab your helmets! This retreat will focus on Rails to Trails, mountain biking, and more cycling fun! Your group will be challenged to push themselves physically and support each other during miles of biking. You will learn about cycling safety and about trails local to Juniata. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to complete a service project with the Raystown Mountain Bike Association. Bikes and helmets will be provided by Rothrock Outfitters (our local outdoor adventure center). You are welcome to bring your own mountain bike if you wish. Get ready to ride! This retreat is a great way to learn more about the Bike JC club on campus.

Each retreat will also have the opportunity to mingle with other retreats and participate in larger group activities and programs.

Juniata College is a place I can truly call my home. The moment I stepped foot on campus the summer I got here, I knew I had amazing opportunities ahead of me. I was lucky enough to be a part of the cycling inbound my Freshman year, and had an awesome time leading it as an incoming Sophomore. I'm elated to be leading it once more, as an incoming Junior this summer. When I'm not in class or doing research in the lab, I'm outside in one way or another. I love to enjoy the amazing sights the valley has to offer and travel to all sorts of different outlooks on my bike. I'm the current president of the cycling club on campus, and will always find an excuse to ride. I'm a member of choral union and have experience traveling with productions put on by the theater department. There are very few things on campus which I haven't tried yet, those which I haven't, they're on my list! The cycling Inbound retreat is an amazing experience I would recommend for anyone and everyone. No, you do not need to be speed racer. No, you do not need to be in incredible shape. The only requirement here is that you want to get outside and have a great time; it's like running, just with half the effort and twice the speed! I hope to see you all soon!

I am going to be a Junior come fall.  I am VP of the Juniata College Cycling Association, and I am active in Nourish International, a club that works on sustainable development and education programs in developing countries around the world.  I am also a tour guide on campus.  I love doing anything outdoors, and have especially fallen in love with mountain biking since doing it for the first time during my Inbound retreat two years ago.  I also enjoy hiking and just about any sport, as long as it's outside.  My favorite thing about Juniata is the sense of community among the students and faculty.  It's awesome to be able to get to know peers and professors outside of class.  I enjoy all of Juniata's traditions, especially Storming of the Arch and Lobsterfest. I became an Inbound Peer Leader because I had so much fun during Inbound that I decided to come back and do it again.  I hope that I can make the transition from high school to college a little bit easier and give everyone a fun way to start off their Juniata career!
