Mr. Carl Glaeser '77
Mr. Glaeser graduated from Juniata in 1977 and began his career in the consumer packaging goods industry, having served with Keebler, Cadbury Schweppes, H.J. Heinz and Snyder’s of Hanover. He currently serves as managing partner for Palladian Advisors in New York.
Prior to Palladian, Carl served as President and CEO of Bowne Global Solutions; and he joined Bowne after serving several years with Lucent Technologies as VP and General Manager of AG Communication Systems.
Carl additionally co-founded and served as VP of Pastel Development Corporation, a developer of personal information management software. Before founding Pastel, he was National Sales Manager at MECA Software.
Mr. Kenneth Hess '75
Mr. Hess graduated from Juniata College in 1975 with a degree in Chemistry. He joined his father’s company, Lancaster Laboratories as a chemist. He took additional courses in accounting, finance and database management and soon became Vice President of Finance and Computer Services. The company had grown from a small 25 person research operation into a large multidiscipline environmental and pharmaceutical laboratory employing over 550 persons when it was sold in 1995. Mr. Hess has continued to support their operations by provided specialized programming designed to modify existing software packages to meet Lancaster Laboratories unique requirements. He also provides gratis consulting services to several small businesses in the area.
Dr. Jodie Monger '88
Dr. Jodie Monger earned her PhD and MS from Purdue University and BS from Juniata College. She currently is the President of Customer Relationship Metrics, LC (Metrics). Prior to establishing Metrics in 1993, Dr. Jodie was the founding Associate Director of Purdue University ’s Center for Customer-Driven Quality.
Dr. Monger ’s expertise is working with Fortune 1000 companies to help them quantify the Voice of their Customer. These companies in turn utilize Dr. Jodie’s research and knowledge to enhance customer satisfaction and relationship management. She allows them to turn data into effective information.
In addition to customer relationship management design and implementation, Dr. Monger has published several books and numerous articles relating to customer service excellence. Of note most recently are two books co-authored by Dr. Jodie and other industry experts: Customer Relationship Management published by Prentice Hall and Call Center Management by the Numbers published by the Purdue University Press.

Mr. Bob Sill '57
Bob Sill, a Juniata College graduate, expressed his entrepreneurial drive throughout his student years at Juniata by operating a hoagie business with his wife Eileen. After graduating, they built the Sill's Family Campground and founded the Bob Sill Insurance Agency.
Bob and his wife continued to innovate as co-founders and board members of Jeff King's National Property, Inc. and as angel Investors in V-SPAN. The Sill's entrepreneurial drive and spirit was handed down to their children Cindy '80, Joy '81, Karen '85 and Bob, Jr., who have all started their own business ventures.

Dr. Jeff Demarest
Professor Jeff Demarest earned his B.S. degree from Monmouth College and his Ph.D. from the University of California at Berkeley. Dr. Demarest served as the Chair of the Biology Department at Juniata College from 1994-2004. Previously Dr. Demarest served as an assistant research physiologist and lecturer at the University of California at Berkeley, a lecturer in the Department of Zoology at the University of California Davis; a consulting scientist at the Center for Ulcer Research and Education at U.C.L.A.; a visiting scientist at the Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole, Mass.; a research associate in the department of medicine at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill; and as a biophysicist a the Bodega Marine Laboratory.
He has more than 20 years of teaching experience including undergraduate General Biology, Cell Biology, Comparative Physiology, Human Physiology and Light Microscopy. As chair of the Biology Department at Juniata College he was responsible for guiding a major undergraduate curriculum revision, introducing research training and research courses as well as the formation of a Biology and Chemistry interdepartmental program in Biochemistry, Cell and Molecular Biology as well as architect selection, review and design of a major science facility to house Biology and Chemistry teaching and research at Juniata College. His primary research interests include cell biology and biophysics of gastrointestinal and renal epithelial ion and water transport studied using molecular, electrophysiological and light microscopy techniques.
Dr. Demarest has presented more than 30 papers at professional scientific meetings and has published more than a dozen peer reviewed research papers, among which is a chapter in The Handbook of Physiology published by the American Physiological Society. He has also served as a referee for several scientific journals and as grant proposal reviewer for the National Science Foundation and National Institutes of Health. He is a member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the American Physiological Society (where he served on the Education Committee), the Union of Concerned Scientists, the Council on Undergraduate Research and the Society of General Physiologists. His research and teaching have been supported by grants form the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, National Science Foundation, National Institutes of Health, The Marine Biological Laboratory, Smith-Klein-Beckman Foundation and the University of California Berkeley. Since he came to Juniata more than thirty undergraduate students have performed independent research projects with Dr. Demarest. He is married to Martha Noble.
Professor Jim Donaldson
Jim Donaldson, a Juniata College alumnus and faculty member, is a professor of management and entrepreneurship. At Juniata he has served on and often chaired several faculty committees, including Director of Institutional Planning and Research for three years.
Professor Donaldson worked as a methods engineer and economic analyst for Firestone Tire and Rubber Company while also earning his M.A. in economics from the University of Akron. Later he earned his MBA from Syracuse University in 1982.
He has taught in the Global Business Strategy program in Penn State’s Department of Energy, Environmental and Mineral Economics and in Saint Francis University’s MBA program, doing courses in business strategy and entrepreneurship.Professor Donaldson was co-author of the 1988 Huntingdon County Economic Development Plan. He also has conducted case study workshops at one of Juniata’s exchange partners, Humberside University in Hull, England.

Mr. John Hille
John Hille has served as Vice President of Advancement and Marketing for Juniata College since December 1, 1998. He founded the Juniata College Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership (JCEL) and became Chairperson of the JCEL board on January 1, 2003. Mr. Hille is also co-founder of SimPlusEXP, Inc., a Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, based educational software company that specializes in simulations and other forms of experiential learning.
Mr. Hille is currently Director of the Greater Huntingdon Chamber of Commerce, Co-chair of the Marketing Committee of the Huntingdon County Partners for Economic Progress and chairperson of the Advisory Council of Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Huntingdon. He is past president of Huntingdon Area Habitat for Humanity.
Previously, Mr. Hille served for five years as Vice-President and Principal in The Complex Sale, Inc., a consulting firm specializing in sales and marketing effectiveness for technology and consulting firms. He founded and served as Executive Director of Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Greater Memphis and founded and served as CEO of HBC Tambourlaine, Ltd, a fine art publishing business.
Dr. Jim Lakso
Dr. Jim Lakso is currently the Provost and Vice President for Student Development at Juniata College. He graduated from Wittenberg University with a BA in Economics and earned his MA and PhD from the University of Maryland.
As a member of the faculty, he has been teaching a variety of courses and serving a number of administrative positions, including Department Chair and Assistant Academic Dean, at Juniata College for over 25 years. In 1980 Dr. Lakso received the Beechly Distinguished Professor Award and in 2005 he received the Beechly Award for Academic Service.
In addition to Dr. Lakso’s work in conjunction with Juniata College, he has been active as an economic consultant primarily in statistical process control and total quality management. He has served as an expert witness for both plaintiff and defense counsels in economic loss cases involving estimates of economic loss, primarily in Huntingdon, PA and the surrounding areas.
Mr. Nick Felice
Nick Felice is a native of Erie County, PA, who earned his BA in History from Mercyhurst College in 1985. He then earned his Economic Finance Professional Certification from the National Development Council in 2003. He has served on the Southern Alleghenies Workforce Investment Board and as Regional Chairman of the Southern Alleghenies Economic Development Advisory Committee to the Pennsylvania Economic Developers Association. He has acted in an advisory capacity to several local PA Careerlinks, as well as, the PA Business Retention & Expansion Program.
Mr. Felice joined the JCEL team in April of 2008, becoming Executive Director. His duties include administrative and operational control of JCEL as well as Huntingdon County Business and Industry, Inc. (HCBI). Managing a staff of four, he oversees the development and delivery of programming that assists Juniata College students and local individuals with starting or expanding business by providing the necessary support, guidance and access to resources.
Mr. Larry Burger
Larry Burger is currently the Vice President/Commercial Relationship Manager of the Huntingdon Region for Kish Bank. He has over 34 years in banking with the past 23 years in Huntingdon County. Larry has an Associate Degree in Accounting and has completed numerous banking courses through the American Bankers Association, RMA, and completed the Central Atlantic School of Commercial Lending through the Pennsylvania Bankers Association.
Larry currently serves as Vice President of HCBI, Chairmen of the Ways & Means Committee, Chairmen of the EZ RLF, member of the loan committee of Southern Alleghenies Planning & Development Commission, Advisory Board Member for the Saint Francis University Small Business Development Center, and currently serving as President of the Huntingdon Rotary Club.
Mr. Timothy Statton '72
Mr. Statton currently is a Director of Bechtel Group, Inc. and President of Bechtel Power Corporation, an engineering and construction unit of Bechtel that designs and builds fossil fueled and nuclear power plants worldwide. He is a member of Bechtel's operating and finance committees. He is an elder in the Presbyterian Church.
Statton was named to the Juniata's Board of Trustees in 1998. He is a 1972 graduate of Juniata with a B.S. in business and economics and has a B.S. in mechanical engineering from San Francisco State University. Statton is married to the former Kathryn Stavru, Juniata Class of 1972 and the couple has two children, David and Christopher.
