Three New Tenants Call JCEL Their Home
August 22, 2007 -- Huntingdon, PA -- The Sill Business Incubator is the place where entrepreneurial activity, business resources and local, state and federal funding assistance is readily available to all Huntingdon County businesses and where businesses have the opportunity to grow and expand.
Juniata College Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership’s (JCEL) Sill Business Incubator is the place for start-up and already existing businesses to take advantage of the vast resources and mentoring that is needed to have a successful business and the reason why three Huntingdon County businesses now call the Sill Business Incubator their home.
The Sill Business Incubator offers office space, business resources, including printing, copying and faxing and qualified professionals to give assistance in all aspects of business operations. “JCEL has provided me with many benefits as a new business person in Huntingdon,” Jason Ruff, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, said. “I had a fully functioning office within the first week of arriving in Huntingdon, complete with printers, phone, fax machine, storage and Internet capabilities.”
Since June 2007, three new tenants have moved into the Sill Business Incubator, located at 419 14th Street in Huntingdon. These companies are SLC Custom Gift Baskets, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans and RG Technologies, LLC. “We are happy to be in JCEL’s Sill Business Incubator because it provides a safe and comfortable working area for our business,” Sharon Conaway, SLC Custom Gift Baskets, said. “It also provides technological resources and access to business contacts that would not otherwise be available.”
SLC Custom Gift Baskets began in 2004 as Amy’s Custom Gift Baskets, a business started by Amy Albrecht, a Juniata College student. Upon graduation from Juniata, Amy sold her business to Sharon and Lynn Conaway of Huntingdon. The Conaways continue to proudly create unique, custom gift baskets for any occasion: house warmings, get well wishes, baby showers, congratulatory and corporate gift baskets, often utilizing the specific companies’ promotional pieces. Sharon is the Biology Mobile Educator for Science in Motion at Juniata College, and Lynn is the Director of Sales and Marketing for the John R. Wald Company. SLC Custom Gift Baskets provides a family-oriented approach to their business with both of their children, Brittany and Brandon, assisting their parents in creating the unique, custom gift baskets.
