In the summer of 2006, budding entrepreneur and sole proprietor of Boom Town Tables, Travis Paul had an epiphany while working with his father. “I laid a piece of stone on a metal stand and then it clicked,” Paul said. “I could work towards making furniture and other items out of flagstone.” Travis has learned the ropes of handling and creating products out of stone through the years by growing up and working with his father. One of Travis’s professors, Jim Donaldson, always asked the question in his class, “Where is the money being made?” and Travis used this question as a catalyst to starting Boom Town Tables.

"I laid a piece of stone on a metal stand and then it clicked,” Paul said. “I could work towards making furniture and other items out of flagstone."

Travis's current line of products are marketed to customers who are building or renovating a home or cabin. They would meet what Travis says is known as the, “folk image.” The summer of 2007 will institute an expansion for the company.  Travis plans to move the company towards more high quality, customized products that include sandblasting and different types of lawn and home decorations. He plans on creating an inventory of customized and mass produced products over the summer that will meet the demands throughout the school year.

Travis plans on continuing to push the growth of Boom Town Tables  in 2008.
