Fouad Touzani is a recent graduate of Juniata College who has gone on to collaborate with two others in creating Fez Interiors, an international firm which specializes in the Moroccan/Andalusian style of interior design and decoration.
“I started this business and I believe it will be successful because I think that if you add technology to craftsmanship, the outcome will be success.”
Fouad was able to get the business started with little to no problems. Fez, where the company is located, is the cultural, historical, and scientific capital of Morocco, and it is also well known for its beautiful artifacts and gorgeous craftsmanship. Fouad has acquired experience in the business because he was born and raised in Fez, which allowed him to work directly with the local craftsmen and witness the Moroccan craftsmanship in its beautiful images. His experience in the U.S. and the encouragements from his American friends created incentive enough for him to get started in this venture. “I started this business and I believe it will be successful because I think that if you add technology to craftsmanship, the outcome will be success.”

Fez Interiors has a competitive advantage over others in the field owing to several factors. First, the decorations are a unique marriage between the Moroccan and the Andalusian styles. In addition, Fez Interiors believes that each customer is different, and so are their products and services. In other words, each product can be customized in color, size, and motif in order to meet the customer’s needs. The designs can be customized using different software programs such as AutoCAD, Photoshop, 3D and many others. Listening to a customer’s requests and specifications to reach the perfect product is the main competitive advantage for Fez Interiors.
Fez Interiors targets U.S. home and office clientele. As it has been noted through different studies and personal experiences, Fouad found out that Americans really enjoy the Moroccan/Andalusian styles of decoration. However, this does not mean they are limited to the American market. Fouad and his partners are currently exploring options in Canada, Europe, and the Gulf countries.
Fouad graduated from Juniata College in 2006 with a Bachelor Degree in Communication and Peace and Conflict studies. He is still a member of the Collegiate Entrepreneur Organization (CEO) and Lambda Pi Eta Honors Society.
