Why?
The CEO Conference (Nov. 6-8, 2008), gives students the opportunity to network on a national and international level. Peer entrepreneurs will be in attendance from more than 500 colleges and universities. The conference also provides students with a vast pool of valuable business tips and information from speakers, workshops, one-on-one sessions, exhibits, and discussions.
Whether you're an upcoming entrepreneur or a veteran, experienced entrepreneur this conference is right for you. Don't miss this chance to hear from successful entrepreneurs who are eager to help other achieve similar success. Plus, at this year's conference Juniata students will be competing to with other students from across the globe to win cash prizes in the "Elevator Pitch Competition". Essentially you are given 60 to 90 seconds to convince your audience why your business idea is viable, valuable and would help investors realize a profitable rate of return. How?
Fill out and submit the CEO Conference Application. You can click here to download the application. Once you’ve completed the application entirely, submit the application to JCEL Executive Director, Nick Felice.
To properly submit your application:
1) Print, sign, and seal application in an envelope labeled “2008 CEO Application, Your Name, c/o: Nick Felice ”. Then deliver the envelope to campus mailbox #938. Or you may hand deliver your application to the Sill Business Incuabor, 419 14th Street (across from Sheetz).
2) E-mail an attachment of the application to felicen@juniata.edu. Make sure to label the subject line “Your Name – 2008 CEO Application”.
Applications are due:
By 5 p.m., Wednesday, September 24th, 2008
- NO applications will be accepted after the 5:00 PM deadline!
- ANY failure to submit your application properly and on-time will prevent the application from being accepted or reviewed!
Following the deadline, applications will be evaluated and applicants will be selected to complete a follow-up interview with JCEL. During the interview, applicants will be expected to answer a series of questions then end with their own 60-90 second "elevator pitch", based on their own business idea. NOTE: If selected, attendees will be asked to remit $100.00 ($150.00 for students who have attended in the past), to help defer some of the cost associated with the trip, within 24-hours of their award notification. Should you miss this deadline, your spot will be offered to the next student on the list.
