Library Instruction Request Guidelines
Tips for requesting library instruction
for your class:
- Course-related library instruction sessions may be scheduled
by the faculty at any point in the semester. Please submit your
request at least 1 week prior to the day you are requesting. The
sooner you make your request, the more likely we can schedule
your preferred day. This also gives the us more time to prepare
for the session.
- Always include the class size with your request. Usually we
can accommodate most class sizes in the library. If we can't,
we will come to you.
- Please plan to attend the session with your class. This will
allow us to integrate our information expertise with your subject
field expertise, which seems to benefit the students.
- Faculty members may use this electronic
form to submit requests for instruction for classes. Information
we need includes
- Course name & number
- Number of students in the course
- Preferred date & time
- Alternate date & time if your preferred date is unavailable
- Description of assignment(s) students will have as well as any
information literacy concerns you may have for your students.
- When your request is scheduled, you will receive a confirmation
email with the date & time that we were able to schedule.
You also will be asked to send a copy of the syllabus & applicable
assignments to the librarian teaching your session.
We look forward to working with you and your class!
