American Painting

The museum's collection contains a number of works by important American artists of the nineteenth century.  In particular, there are works by many of the key members of the Hudson River School including Thomas Cole, Asher B. Durand, Jervis McEntee, John Casilear, Norton Bush, and John Kensett.

The collection also features landscapes by Andrew Melrose, anmial paintings by Arthur Fitzwilliam Tate, nautical scenes by Edward Moran, and Antonio Jacobson, as well as still life paintings by Severin Roesen.
