Juniata 3, Lebanon Valley 0 ANNVILLE, Pa. รข?? The Juniata College women\'s volleyball team wasted little time getting back in the win column after suffering their first loss of the season this past Sunday as the Eagles claimed a 3-0 victory over Commonwealth opponent Lebanon Valley College in Annville Wednesday evening. Juniata is now 21-1 on the season and 4-0 in the conference, while Lebanon Valley drops to 14-6 on the season and 2-2 in conference action. Amber Thomas (Conestoga Valley/Ephrata) and Stephanie Kines (Towson/Towson, Md.) each finished with eight kills and hit .400 or better as Juniata claimed the match by game scores of 30-14, 30-21 and 30-25. The Eagles got out of the gates quickly, riding an efficient offensive attack to the win in game one. Juniata hit .458 in the first game, but then saw their percentages drop in the next two games. But while the offense lost some power the Eagles defense remained strong as the team brought up 61 digs in the three games and also added eight blocks to help limit the home team to a .009 hitting percentage in the match. Megan Sollenberger (Cumberland Valley/Mechanicsburg) led all players with 21 digs in the contest, while Erin Albert (Philipsburg-Osceola/Philipsburg) was tops in the match with five blocks. Sollenberger also had a pair of aces in the match and was matched by Cassie Dickmann (Unionville/Kennett Square) who also had a pair of assists. Albert also contributed six kills for the Juniata offense which finished with 43 kills compared to 26 for Lebanon Valley. Jessica Ritchey (Greencastle-Antrim/Greencastle) passed out 35 assists in the match, while also adding nine digs. Lebanon Valley\'s Natalie Goodfellow led all players with 12 kills in the match while also producing nine digs. Erin Yost passed out 22 assists for the Flying Dutchmen and Jill Miller led the team with 10 digs. Juniata will be back in action October 10 with a Commonwealth match at Moravian. ###
