Eagle Women Fare Well In Track

CARLISLE, Pa. - For the second-consecutive week the Juniata College men\'s and women\'s indoor track and field teams put together strong team efforts against a strong field in a meet at Dickinson College as the two teams each finished in the top six at the DuCharme Invitational Saturday afternoon. The Juniata men placed fifth among the seven teams, while the women\'s team claimed a sixth-place finish. Leading the women\'s side of things was sophomore Kelsey Buffenmyer (Donegal/Mount Joy) who earned a first-place finish in the long jump and also added a second-place effort in the long jump. Juniata also had a pair of point-scoring performances from Caitlin Hinson (Danville/Danville) who placed fourth in the 55-meter dash and was sixth in the 200-meter dash as well. Emily Landis (Christopher Dock/Harleysville) also scored points for Juniata on the day with a seventh-place effort in the 400. Juniata\'s 4x200-meter relay team picked up points with a fourth-place finish. On the men\'s side the Eagles piled up big points in the sprints as Randy Anderson (DuBois/DuBois) won the 55-meter dash and was followed by Dusty Sier (Smithsburg/Smithsburg, Md.) who was second in the race. Anderson then produced a fourth-place finish in the 200. Anderson also produced a first-place effort in the long jump. TJ Breya (East Juniata/McClure) contributed a seventh-place effort in the 55-meter hurdles to contribute to the team score. Also adding to the score was Patrick Filamor (International School/Manila, Philippines) who placed eighth in the high jump. Ryan Baird (Norwin/North Huntingdon) added a fifth-place finish for Juniata in the pole vault. The Eagles track teams will be off until the new year when they will compete at Susquehanna on January 19. ###
