Women\'s tennis downs Frostburg State, 6-3

FROSTBURG, Md. - The Juniata College women's tennis team improved to 2-0 on the season with a 6-3 win over Frostburg State College, Sunday afternoon in Frostburg, Md. Freshmen Lauren Perow (Huntingdon, Pa./Huntingdon) and Megan Zerba (Mount Marion, N.Y./Saugerties) combined for three of Juniata's six points, with Perow winning her #5 singles match, 6-0, 6-0, over Kim Hardy, and Zerba posting a 6-1, 6-0 win over Sharise Erwin at #6 singles. The two then combined for a 8-0 win over Hardy and Erwin at #3 doubles. Aggie Kwon (Enola, Pa./Cumberland Valley) had the most dramatic victory of the day, winning a three-set match over Vicky Stafford at #3 singles. After splitting the first two matches, Kwon wrapped up the win with a 10-6 tiebreaker in a 7-6 third-set. The Eagles will host Penn State-Erie, The Behrend Campus, on Monday, Sept. 24, at the Raffensperger Tennis Courts in Huntingdon. SINGLES 1. Sarah Eisel (FSU) def. Amanda Fontana (JC) 6-2, 6-2 2.
