Juniata College Names Three to Board of Trustees

HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- The Juniata College board of trustees has added three new members to begin the 2002-2003 academic year. The new trustees appointed to begin service in September 2002 through August 2005 are: Jodie Monger Gray of Herndon, Va., (alumni trustee); Lois Miller McDowell of Huntingdon, Pa. (church trustee); and Richard Paulhamus of Glen Gardner, N.J.
Gray, a native of Lancaster, Pa., is president of Customer Relationship Metrics LC, a firm specializing in customer service consulting. She has published several books and numerous articles on the subject of customer service excellence. Before founding her company, she was associate director of the Purdue University Center for Customer Driven Quality from 1992 to 1995.
A 1988 Juniata College graduate with a bachelor's degree in psychology, Gray went on to earn a master's degree in 1990 and a doctorate in 1994, both from Purdue University.
She is a member of the Herndon-Dulles Chamber of Commerce and served on the Reston, Va. Community Center board of governors from 1996 to 1999. She also is a member of the Women President?s Organization.
Gray has remained very active as a Juniata alumna. She served as member-at-large, vice president and past president of the Juniata Alumni Council from 1994 to 2000. She has volunteered in several college programs, including the Parent-Alumni Career Teams, the Juniata Alumni Ambassadors and the Women's Celebration Committee. In addition, she created and still manages the Juniata College Alumni Association NewsGroup.
McDowell is a retired elementary school teacher who worked in the Lombard, Ill. School District from 1967 until retiring in 1991. A native of West Hartford, Conn., she graduated from Juniata College in 1952 with a bachelor's degree in sociology.
She went on to attend Northern Illinois University as a graduate student in education. She earned a master's degree in education from the National College of Education, in Chicago, Ill., in 1985.
She serves as an active member of the Stone Church of the Brethren. She also serves on the program and arrangements committee for the Church of the Brethren Middle District of Pennsylvania. She also served on Juniata's Church-College Relations Council from 1994 to 2002, serving as chair of the council from 1998 to 2002.
Paulhamus, an information and technology consultant and project manager for a variety of corporate clients, previously worked for AT&T from 1972 to 1998, leaving the firm as a district manager in the business services division.
A native of Williamsport, Paulhamus graduated from Juniata in 1970, earning a bachelor's degree in mathematics. He earned a master's degree in computer science from Penn State in 1972 and earned a master's degree in statistics from Rutgers University in 1980.
Paulhamus previously served as an alumni trustee from 1998 to 2001. He also currently serves as the chair of The Juniata Fund, a position he has held since 1999. He also volunteers as a Juniata Admissions Ambassador.
