(Posted September 29, 2010)

HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Juniata College women's soccer won their third consecutive match 3-1 this evening versus Westminster College at Winton Hill Field.

Sarah Nee knocked one in first for Westminster in the 13th minute off an assist from Shanay Phillian. Juniata reacted nine minutes later when Nikki Hankinson (New Baltimore, Pa./Berlin Brothersvalley) finished off of her own corner kick to tie the match up. Lauren Brant (Gilbertsville, Pa./Boyertown) finished off of an assist from Aimee Radic (Belle Vernon, Pa./Belle Vernon Area) in the 61st minute, and Erin Eddinger (Barto, Pa./Boyertown) scored off of a rebound assist from Alicia Snyder (Jonestown, Pa./Northern Lebanon) to top off the scoring in the 79th minute.

The system of play that Juniata Head Coach Scott McKenzie designed created quite a number of offensive chances for Juniata, helping them to outshoot Westminster 23-13. The Eagles also had five corner kicks compared to two from the Titans.

Defensively, Katie Young (Huntingdon, Pa./Huntingdon), Laura Fisher (Myerstown, Pa./Eastern Lebanon County) and Hankinson played an absolutely solid game. Gabriella Ricciardi (Massepequa, N.Y./Massepequa) had an excellent match defending the net for the Eagles for the full 90 minutes. She made five saves and came out of her box to clean up loose balls. Lindsay Moyer defended the net for the Titans, making five saves in her 90 minutes of play.

This Saturday, Juniata hosts Landmark Conference opponent Moravian College scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. match at Winton Hill Field.
