HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- The Juniata College women's swimming team was picked seventh in the Landmark Conference preseason poll based on a survey of the league's head coaches and sports information directors which was released this Tuesday.
Juniata, coming off their first meet of the season, a home opener versus Division II Mansfield University, received 12 points in the poll. The Eagles, under head coach Lauren O'Donnell, will feature a predominantly new roster with four freshmen joining returning conference point scorer Evan Beatty.
The University of Scranton women's swimming and diving team has been chosen to continue its run atop the Landmark and earn a fourth-straight Landmark Women's Swimming and Diving Championship according to the poll. They have earned 70 points and the only other team to gain a first-place vote was Susquehanna University.
Susquehanna placed second in the poll after a strong season last year, gaining them 63 points, while Catholic placed third with 54 points, returning their three-time multi-event champion at the Landmark meet, senior Lisa Brooks, along with 11 additional freshmen.
