(Posted September 6, 2011)

HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Juniata College senior Caitlyn Bowman (Seven Valleys, Pa./Dallastown) racked up seven points over two victories to help the Eagles go undefeated in their opening weekend, and was rewarded with Landmark Conference Field Hockey Offensive Player of the Week honors today.

Bowman, a forward, scored the team's first goal to secure the Eagles' lead on Saturday in a home opener against Bridgewater. In the 55th minute, Bowman put away a second goal, helping the Eagles to a 3-1 Juniata win over Bridgewater.

On Sunday, Bowman opened the scoring again with an unassisted goal against Stevens Institute of Technology in the 10th minute and then quickly followed with an assist to senior Kim Amrod for the Eagles second goal in a 4-1 win over Stevens.

After a victorious opening weekend for the Eagles, Bowman finished with three goals and one assist.

Juniata, ranked 16th in the most recent NFHCA Division III preseason poll, will return to the field on Wednesday, Sep. 7, with a home game against Elizabethtown.
