MEN'S BASKETBALL (9-9, 4-4 Commonwealth): Feb 5 at Messiah*; Feb 8 vs. Elizabethtown*.
*Commonwealth Conference game.
The Eagles won one game and lost two heartbreakers on the week. The Eagles topped Widener85-73 to close out the week, following two overtime losses. Juniata fell to Lebanon Valley 76-68 in overtime and 81-80 to Dickinson also in overtime. Tommy McConnell (Bishop Guilfoyle/Altoona) scored a career-high 22 points against Widener. Neil Holloway (Tussey Mountain/Saxton) notched a career-high 19 points in the victory. Craig Biller (Penn Cambria/Loretto) and Jeff Lau (York Catholic/Glen Rock) were also both in double figures with 17 and 11 respectively. Biller led the Eagles 22 points against Lebanon Valley and Travis Martin (Huntingdon/Huntingdon) chipped in 12 points. Biller was again the high scorer against Dickinson as he scored 21. Lau had 14 in the game and Holloway added 13 in the overtime loss.
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL (7-11, 3-5 Commonwealth): Feb 4 at Messiah*; Feb 8 vs. Elizabethtown*.

The Eagles dropped two conference games this week falling 52-42 against Lebanon Valley and 54-39 against Widener. Jen Uhrich (Palmyra/Palmyra) recorded a "double-double" with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Kelly Steinbeiser (Altoona/Altoona) added six points and a game-high 14 rebounds for the Eagles. Uhrich again led the Eagles with 12 points against Lebanon Valley and Casey Shoup (Altoona/Altoona) added 11. Steinbeiser again led the team with 11 rebounds.
The Juniata College women's swimming team picked up its tenth dual-meet victory of the season as they swam past King's College 136-42. The Eagles picked up victories in each event, and had swimmers place first and second in seven of the eight individual events in which they competed. The Eagles also claimed first and second place in the only relay held during the competition. Kim Dierolf (Boyertown Area/Barto) and Andrea Nulton (Tyrone Area/Tyrone) each earned two individual event victories. Alissa Schneider (Mililani/Mililani, Hawaii), Cyndi Long (Emmaus/Emmaus), Amy Fletcher (Epherta/Epherta) and Dana Gais (Kiski Area/Saltsburg) all earned victories in individual events, while Long, Schneider Kim Allen (Susquehanna Twp./Harrisburg) and Kathy Trainor (Upper Merion/King of Prussia) swam to victory in the 200-meter medley relay.
MEN'S VOLLEYBALL (4-1, 0-1 EIVA): Feb 4 at Penn State*; Feb 7 vs. NYU*; Feb 8 vs. George Mason*.

Juniata earned two 3-0 victories on the week, topping Eastern Mennonite and East Stroudsburg. The Eagles won 30-19, 30-11, 30-21 against Eastern Mennonite and 30-20, 30-18, 30-20 against East Stroudsburg. Ryan Genova (Antietam/Reading) led the Eagles in kills in both matches knocking out 10 against Eastern Mennonite and 14 against East Stroudsburg. Ricky Ziegler (Northeastern/Manchester) had 36 assists on the week, and Scott Kofmehl (North Allegheny/Pittsburgh) added 29 assists. Kenny Eiser (Central Bucks/West Doylestown) and Neil Lukas (Fairport NY/East Windsor, N.J.) each had eight kills against East Stroudsburg and Chris Jones (Lower Merion/Wayne) had a match-high 11 blocks.
MEN'S & WOMEN'S INDOOR TRACK & FIELD:
Both Juniata's men's and women's indoor track and field teams were in action at the Franklin and Marshall Iannicelli Track Invitational. Juniata got a number of top-10 performances from both the men and the women. Adam Loser (Central York/York) placed second in the high jump and eighth in the long jump. Jason Boyer (Indian Valley/Belleville) earned a 10th-place finish in the long jump. Phil Hass (Elizabethtown/Hummelstown)finished ninth in the 800 meters, Chris Sheaffer (Central York/York) placed eighth in the 800. Jeremy Lampert (Portsmouth/Portsmouth, N.H.) was 10th in the 1500 meters, and Jeremy Weber (Garden Spot/Mohnton) placed seventh in the in the 55 meters. For the women Stephanie Wasylyk (Honesdale/Uniondale) earned the Eagles top finish as she placed third in the pole vault. Betsey Kusniez (Boyertown/Gilbertsville) was fourth in the shot put, Maria Welch (Jersey Shore/Avis) was 10th in the triple jump and Nancy Hayes (Westminster/Westminster, Md.) was ninth in the 1500.
