Artist to Give Talk on Her Work on Display at Juniata Museum of Art

(Posted November 17, 2003)

HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Alison Denyer, whose exhibition ?Organic Forms,? opens Friday, Nov. 21 at the Juniata College Museum of Art, will present a lecture on her work at 4:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 21 in the Neff Lecture Hall in the von Liebig Center for Science on the Juniata campus.

The lecture is free and open to the public. The lecture will last about 30 minutes and will be followed by a reception for Denyer?s new exhibition.

During the lecture, Denyer will show examples of her work and discuss how she creates in-depth works of individual forms found in nature. By drawing or depicting simple plants and vegetables such as gourds, her work examines how artists can find extraordinary visual details in simple, natural forms.

?Alison views her work as detailed visual investigations into complex forms suspended in time,? says Nancy Siegel, director of the Juniata museum.
