Catherine DeCoursey - International Political Communication

Question

Why did you choose this topic?

Answer

It was a research project for Politics and the Media.

Q

How did you feel presenting in front of an audience helped you as a student?

A

It was a great learning experience, made me think on my feet, and it was important because it's preparing me for real life. I will be presenting a lot in real life.

Q

What is the most interesting aspect of your research?

A

While the Daily Show overlapped with regular news, Jon Stewart did give more accurate information than regular network news.

Q

What have you learned from this experience?

A

I learned how to present my research in a way (that is different from the way) that I wrote my paper, making it interesting rather than academic.

Q

How do you feel your research will illuminate the topic and/or benefit society?

A

My research proved that Jon Stewart is not a substitute news source, but is good to be used in conjunction with regular news.
