It's New, It's Hot, Will It Last?

In our society today, people want to be captivated by entertainment. There is a high demand for new toys and gadgets that feed the need for fun. Modern technology certainly isn't skimping on the fun; with new gadgets that can play games, music, pictures, people can get their entire entertainment fix with one item. But which do people prefer? I asked a few Juniata students to decide which technology will be the most popular and most influential for future technology.

Derek Matthews '10 - "Xbox 360 will definitely be, you can now download movies, TV shows and games over Xbox live which just keeps improving."

Ian Thorne '10 - I believe that the iPod has completely changed the music industry as we know it. They have completely allowed all p2p downloading to skyrocket, creating multiple ways of getting into secure information. However, this is leading also to people beginning to learn more about spy ware and spam in order to protect themselves from computer hacking."

Travis Paul '08 - "iPod ... by far."

Amin Khoshnevisan '09 - "I'm going to go with the iPod, I think, with the Nintendo Wii coming in at second."

Matthew Wagner '10 - "I think the PS3 will be the biggest and most influential of all of these because it is what everyone is waiting for to beat out XBOX 360. XBOX 360 has Halo, but Playstation has been around longer. By waiting to release the PS3, Playstation has caused suspense unlike any other system. Also the commercials are awesome."

Kevin Warner '07 - "I'm going to say iPod."
