Facilities and Services

Cable                                                                                           

Cable hook-up is provided in your room. Each room has a built-in TV cable that will beam in 51 television channels (including MTV, ESPN, Fox News, etc.) to your room. All you need to provide is a cable-ready TV.

Computer Network

Your room has two connections to the high-speed campus network. These lines connect all of the computers on campus and provide high-speed access to the internet. For more information, see the Computer and Network Services website.

Campus Dining

Lunch Outside During Spring Meals are provided through the college dining service. All first semester residential students are assigned to Plan 1 for the first semester. Changes can be made for the second semester at www.juniata.edu/services/dining/mealplan. Declining Cash Balance (DCB) can be added through the Bursur's Office at any time during the semester, and can be used in any of the Sodexo facilities. DCB carries over from fall to spring semesters but not from one academic year to the next. Money from DCB may be used to pay for guest meals. Residential Hall Staff

Each residence hall/apartment area has student and professional staff members who are available to provide information and resources, offer help and support, plan social and educational activiites, and address concerns.  A Resident Assistant (RA) will be living on your floor.  They are peer advisors that will help you during your time at Junaita. RAs are supervised by a live-in Resident Director (RD). The Resident Director advises the hall staff, coordinates hall programs, and works with the judicial system. RDs can answer most of your questions, and when they cannot, they know where to find them.

Public SafetyResidential Life

Security Personnel are on the job 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The staff consists of six full-time officers, one full-time office support staff member, and six part-time officers. The officers have a variety of training and experience, ranging from criminal investigation procedures to self-defense techniques. They have an excellent working relationship with local and state police.

Transportation

Downtown Huntingdon has an AMTRAK station, making it easy to get where you want to go. If you prefer flying, the college provides transportation to and from the State College Airport at the beginning and end of each semester. If you would like to go mid-semester, the State College Airport and the Altoona Airport are both within an hour's drive.
