What to Bring
Electrical Appliances
- Alarm clock (for those early morning classes)
- Microwave
- Toaster
- Mini-refrigerator
- Desk Lamp
- Computer
- Flash Drive
- Surge protector (to protect your computer)
- Fan
- Extension Cords (must be 14 gauge)
Linens
- Sheets, blankets, comforter (We recommend EXTRA LONG SHEETS.)
- Egg crate mattress pad
- Bed and Backrest Pillows
- Towels/washcloths
Grooming, Personal, and Laundry Needs
- Personal Hygene Products
- Flip Flops (for the showers)
- Cothes basket/bags
- Detergent, fabric softener, and dryer sheets.

Decorations
- Rug (so your feet don't get cold in the morning!)
- Pictures of your family, friends, and pets
- Posters and plants to make your room your home
- Desk Chair
Study Aids
- Dictionary/Thesaurus
- Pens, Pencils, and somewhere to keep them.
- Other stationary i.e. stapler and staples, masking or scotch tape, calendar, and paper clips.
Entertainment Items
- Stereo with reasonably sized speakers (NOTE - Courtesy Hours are in effect 24 hours a day. Quiet hours for your residence hall will be voted on at your first hall meeting.)
- Headphones
- VCR/DVD Player
- Television
- Hobby equipment (bike, camera, sporting equiptment, board games, etc.)
Miscellaneous Items
- Collapsible luggage/duffel bags (to save space; if you bring a trunk, plan on using it as a coffee table)
- Umbrella
- Dishes
- Envelopes and stamps
- Crates for organization
- Small tool kit
What Not to Bring
- Pets (sorry, "fish only" policy)
- Your own furniture (college issued furniture CANNOT be removed from your room. Each room comes with 2 beds, 2 desks with chairs, 2 dressers, and 2 closets. Anything that you bring must be taken home in May. We do not provide summer storage. Sorry, no exceptions. )
- Waterbed (The people downstairs do not want a dripping ceiling at 2 AM!)
- Work-out equipment (you will not need it when you see our Fitness Center)
- Anything that breaks our fire safety policy. For safety reasons, the following are expressly prohibited in the residence halls:
- Candles, incense and/or anything with an open flame
- Potpourri that uses a candle
- Propane tanks
- Fireworks
- Flame-heated stoves and hot plates
- Heating coils
- Halogen lamps
- Smoke Machines
- Hookahs
- Any lamps with plastic shades
- A telephone (one will come with your room)
- Weapons of any kind
- Air Conditioner (rules for Air Conditioners from the Pathfinder)
