A Sustainable Juniata College - Recycling Guidelines
As of January 30th, 2006 you can recycle:
Glass
Both clear and colored glass can be placed in any glass recycling bin - they can be mixed together.
Aluminum and Tin
Aluminum and Tin can be recycled - please clean the containers before placing them in the recycling bins.
Plastic
#1 and #2 CLEAR and GREEN plastic bottles with the caps removed - as a rule of thumb - if it is clear and once contained a liquid suitable for human consumption, it is typically a #1 or #2 bottle and can be recycled in any plastic recycling bin on campus. The images below should be able to be found on any #1 or #2 plastic container. BLUE, YELLOW, OR SOLID WHITE MILK AND DRINK CONTAINERS CANNOT BE RECYCLED.

Paper
Currently we need to segregate newspaper, office paper (colored paper and white paper) and shredded paper but ALL CAN BE Recycled. We are working on additional bins to support this segregation. In the meantime, paper bins should be used for office paper (colored and white) only.
Cardboard
Corrugated cardboard can be placed next to the recycling bins in any building. Please see the picture below for an example of corrugated cardboard. Cereal boxes and six-pack holders do not qualify!

Magazines
Magazines can be recycled outside A100 or in Ellis.
