PS 320, Topics in Philosophy and Jurisprudence

I teach several advanced courses in political philosophy under this general title. Each may be taken for credit.

Foundations of American Constitutionalism examines the development of American ideas about constitutional government, and features an in depth study of  The Federalist Papers Offered Fall 2008.

African-American Social and Political Thought (Fall 2002). This course will also count as a CA II course. The course is designed to explore some of the basic writings of black Americans on politics and society.  

Shakespeare's Politics. I have taught this course several times, most recently in Fall 2001.  

Liberalism.  This course will consider the history and development of liberal thought from John Locke to John Rawls. Offered Fall 2006, Fall 2009.
