Student Alumni Association Events and Activities
With the goal of introducing students to the Alumni Association and helping them to make connections with Juniata graduates, SAA helps to plan several events each year in conjunction with the Alumni Office and Alumni Council.
Homecoming and Family Weekend - SAA plays a major role in this exciting weekend in October. Members are responsible for student publicity and involvement, help with decorations and campus set up, and provide support for event registration. We greet guests as they arrive and mingle with alumni, family and friends throughout the weekend.
Juniata Career Day: A Job, Internship and Networking Fair - This annual event in February gives students the opportunity to network with alumni, parents, and friends of the College who can offer jobs, internships and mentoring. SAA committees coordinate publicity, greet employers, run student registration, and help with set-up and clean-up.
Wine & Cheese Networking Reception - SAA works with the Sr. Class Officers and the Alumni Council to plan this annual event. Because it immediately follows Juniata Career Day, the reception gives student an opportunity to mingle in a more casual setting with alumni and parent guests who represented their organizations at the fair. Members help with set-up and run registration.
Senior Class Dinner - SAA takes the lead in planning this Juniata tradition for the Senior Class, which takes places every year in February. Members select a theme, class gift, and alumni guest speakers. We coordinate decorations, run registration, help with publicity, and create the Senior Slideshow, which is debuted at the event.
Senior Salute - This one-stop shopping event for seniors preparing for graduation takes place each April. In addition to serving as greeters, SAA members work with local alumni to provide information about the Alumni Association and staying connected to Juniata after graduation.
Alumni Weekend - There are always a few SAA members who make it back to campus in June for Juniata's big reunion weekend. We work registration, greet and carry luggage for alumni, attend receptions and dinners to mingle with alumni, honor the 50th reunion class by handing out special medallions during the All Class Dinner, and generally join in on the fun.
