Chesapeake Bay Region Stream Clean-up
with the Baltimore, JC-DC and Central PA Clubs
Join alumni, parents, family and friends (and all the little critters living in our watershed) for a day of service as we learn about the importance of clean stream systems, put ourselves to work removing trash from a nearby stream and gather over some lunch as we reflect on our good deeds and generally feel good about ourselves! First we’ll gather at Backwater Angler and learn about the benefits of clean, healthy stream systems. We’ll follow up the educational portion of the event by our putting all that newfound knowledge to good work by carpooling to a nearby stream to remove trash from the stream and surrounding riparian area. We’ll then travel to the Greene Turtle for lunch and merriment.
Streams are the beginning of life in the Chesapeake Bay system, so if you love sipping on a beverage while eating crabs and oysters during a summer sundown, this event is a must attend. We look forward to working alongside you, our fellow Juniata family members, as we do our part to beautify the Bay!
Please wear old clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty, boots, heavy rubber gloves, and if you wish, a change of clothes, drinks and snacks.
