What is it?

The Job Shadow program is your opportunity to:

Don't miss this opportunity to learn what it takes to be successful through the eyes of someone who used to be in your shoes!

Students will shadow Juniata graduates and parents working in a variety of fields in the Washington, DC, Philadelphia or Harrisburg area. The program will begin with participants travelling to meet their hosts and network with other alumni and parents from the area at a kick-off reception on Sunday afternoon. Hosts will provide lodging at their homes on Sunday night* and take their students to work on Monday morning. Students will not only shadow their host, but also have the chance to network with colleagues and learn about the organization in which they work throughout the day.

* For those who are uncomfortable staying in the home of their hosts, arrangements may be made to stay with nearby family or friends.

When is it?

Sunday to Monday, March 30-31, 2008. Students will return to campus at the end of the workday on Monday.

Who is Eligible?

All students in good academic standing are eligible with a brief recommendation from one of their advisors. Students will be responsible for acquiring the necessary recommendation.

What Does it Cost?

Thanks to the generosity of the hosts, lodging and most meals will be free. Travel costs will be the largest out-of-pocket expense. Carpooling is strongly encouraged, and students without transportation are invited to apply as an effort will be made to coordinate carpools.

How Do I Apply?

Please complete the online application no later than Wednesday, February 27, 2008. When submitting your application, please include your most up-to-date resume (Word .doc file) and ask your advisor to e-mail a brief recommendation or statement of support to David Meadows, Asst. Director of Alumni Relations, at Your resume and application will be viewed by your prospective host to approve the match and all matches will be made by Monday, March 10. Students who have been selected will be asked to attend an orgainizational meeting the following week.
