Fort Lauderdale was the fourth stop on the alumni event trail in Florida this February – more specifically the home of Dave ’53 and Reenie Bayer. Their home is the perfect house, perfect for any kind of party and/or gathering and is a beautiful waterfront property along the New River in South West Fort Lauderdale. The event took place on February 6. An enthusiastic and eager group of 10 enjoyed a reception starting at 6:30 followed by a delicious dinner prepared by Reenie. During dinner conversation, Bub Parker ’91, Director of Alumni Relations, updated those in attendance on the latest happenings at Juniata and thanked everyone for everything that they have done in the past for the College. In addition, he answered questions that the group had. The group exchanged Juniata memories and compared College Hill experiences – experiences that ranged from the early 1950s until the early 2000s.
In addition, a commitment was made by the group to hold another event next year (or before) and to reach out to other alumni, family and friends in the area so that they can enjoy the alumni events as well. Please keep your eyes tuned to the Juniata Web site for information about the upcoming gatherings in South Florida.
